I took the guitar repair and set up class.
The instructor Al, or should I say a man with a deep passion for playing and everything to do with guitars is ready to show you, work with you until you get it. Apart of this class you are given an electric guitar, when you leave on Sunday evening you will have set up the guitar for the action that you play. Al works with everyone through the class. Don’t forget to bring a fresh new note book and an open mind for learning. You will not find a better person to walk you through guitar repair.
Anzalone Guitars has offered some of the best guitar service I have ever dealt with and seen in my 15 years plus experience as a musician. In my career as a musician, I have had many repairs and set ups on my instruments. Going to the big name guys has always ended with disaster, with high prices and low results. Anzalone Guitars turns that completely around, offering top of the line work at extremely affordable prices. Al’s knowledge, attention to detail, and care for the customers needs are truly second to none. If you are looking for a reliable luthier you can trust and work with to get your instrument playing at its finest: you have found the number you have been seraching to find. The best part? Al is kind enough to let you behind the curtain and offers insider knowledge on the subject through his workshops at a very affordable cost. This is truly unheard of and as somebody who just finished the 2-Day Setup Workshop, it was worth every penny. Al does it all, produces work at it’s finest quality, and has one thing on his mind while doing the impossible: customer satisfaction.
I just finished the electronics wiring class, which was excellent. I now have new pickups with proper wiring installed in my Les Paul and Strat, plus a Tele with a 4-way switch. Al is a great teacher and, just as important, a great guy. I highly recommend his workshops, I'll be coming back for the setup one in the fall.
Just finished a two day guitar maintenance and set up class by Anzalone Guitar.
This course is a must for anyone that wants to learn from a instructor that is very passionate about guitars and guitar playability.
A excellent instructor that explains the benefits of performing a set up to the very best possible degree that a instrument can be at to achieve optimal playability.
Shop was very clean and organized. Supplied needed tools to complete all work done on a guitar that you get to keep.
Al even had a former student that is a guitar tech assist me when I needed assistance. (Thanks Greg)
I honestly felt like I was working as a tech in his shop under the supervision of a master craftsman.
What a great experience!!!
Class was beyond my expectations!!!
Many Thanks to Al for such a great experience!!!!
Of all the years I spent teaching myself guitar setup and repair, I eventually got to a point where I felt like I hit a plateau.
Raised in New York State, I always had this perception that I would have to relocate down south or out west in order to pursue a full-time Luthier Training Program.
In October of 2020, I decided to research Guitar Repair Luthier programs in NY/NJ & CT. I came across a few options in New York, but it wasn't until I checked out AnzaloneGuitars.com & the well-rounded guitar workshops offered, that I was potentially onto something interesting.
Soon thereafter, I called & spoke with Master Luthier Albert Anzalone. From talking shop, guitar specs, and 80's hard rock, metal, and more, we hit it off immediately, and I knew this was the right path, the next logical step in taking my guitar repair knowledge to the next level. I knew then I was ready to sign up for Anzalone's Guitar Setup Workshop.
Across the two-day Workshop, to say I had an incredible time learning from Al Anzalone would be an understatement. Al not only has a solid foundation in Aeronautical Engineering, carpentry & more, but he's learned from arguably THE BEST Master Luthiers in both the U.S. & Canada.
Al Anzalone's professional approach to Guitar Luthiery is of one that is well-rounded, involves logic & critical thinking. Not only is he proficient & meticulous in this field, but he truly is passionate about each guitar he assesses, takes great pride in every student & customer he teaches/assists, and with treats you like family.
Again, for years, I have wanted to pursue a mentor of sorts in the Guitar Repair & Luthiery business, and all the while, he was just shy of an hour away from where I live. Small world!
With a patient & professional approach, I can't think of a better person to learn from. Al saw potential in me from day one, and because of the foundation he helped me develop, I am now a Repair Technician for both Guitar Center & Anzalone Guitars. I wouldn't have taken my Guitar Repair Game to that next level without the knowledge, know-how, and proficiency that Al Anzalone possesses.
In continuing to learn setups, pickups, electronics, deep repairs, nut/saddle-making, and more, I am truly appreciative, and excited in continuing to learn from the best of the best, my heavy metal-brother-from-another-mother. I thank you my friend!
