(August 3, 2023, 9:16 pm)We stopped to have lunch at Carmines on our way home from Atlantic City and what a great choice! It was easy to find, not too far off of the highway, and plenty of free parking. The owner greeted us personally and our waitress was amazing. The food, absolutely what you’d expect from an authentic Italian NY deli. Fresh quality meats, extensive menu, and ingredients that I haven’t had in my cooked meals since my grandmother cooked for me - she was from Italy! So delicious and there was a steady flow of regular customers coming in for takeout while we were there. We also had the pleasure of listening to live jazz music throughout our meal. The owner surprised us with two plates of assorted pastries on the house. He was touched that we were a party of six, all extended family and traveling together, and seemingly enjoying it. The owner got up and sang along with the musician on stage and he was really good! So glad we picked Carmines for our lunch stop, what a great place where we shared more memorable moments and enjoyed some of the most authentic Italian food we’ve had in a restaurant!

(March 21, 2023, 2:15 pm)Terrific roast beef and cheddar on a role. Absolutely perfect! Excellent roll, crisp lettuce, quality cheddar, horseradish mayo spread...and the roast beef---rare and delicious! They have live bands on the weekend. I plan to return to check that out in the future.

(July 14, 2022, 1:06 pm)Holy cow! This is the mother of all Italian delis and cafes-and beyond. They do italian specialties and have their own unique twists and even a Vegan menu! I ordered the thyme lentil summer soup and the Georgia Peach salad. Will definitely go again, may have to move in.
