(July 9, 2023, 9:20 am)In 1946, Castle Clinton became a National Monument, and in 1965, it was designated a New York City Landmark. After Castle Clinton was saved from demolition in 1946, the National Park Service restored it to its original appearance as a fortification. It now serves not only as a museum, but also as the ticket office for the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island ferry. It also houses the Battery Conservancy, created in 1994 to "rebuild and revitalize the Battery…and its major landmark, Castle Clinton National Monument." The Conservancy now serves as the current curator of Castle Clinton. The site reopened to the general public in 1975, and is today known as the Castle Clinton National Monument.

(February 22, 2022, 2:24 pm)Great first time experiencing the Statue of Liberty in all its glory. Tickets were $23 per adult so not too bad. Heard there was a free ferry down the road but this one wasn't busy so didn't mind paying. The ferry itself had plenty of seating. Tons of opportunities to take beautiful photos. Definitely a must-try for anyone visiting the city! 4 stars only because the ticket sellers were rude.
