I came here with my best friend and our daughters. Our kids were blown away with the tents and all the lawn activities. The tents were super comfortable with easy heating and cooling (we used both). After exploring the island all day, we came back and had great drinks and dinner. The girls loved hearing the live music. At the end of the night, we enjoyed 'smores by the fire, while looking out at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. In the morning, we had a great breakfast and explored the island more. It felt like we had the entire island to ourselves.
Our kids have officially requested we make this an annual event!
Our stay was truly incredible! The accommodations were beautiful. The room was so comfortable and spacious. It was an incredible experience to sleep with a view of the Statue of Liberty! The bar menu was phenomenal. Dinner and breakfast was delicious and the service/hospitality was exceptional. I really enjoyed being able to call concierge to take us to other locations on the island. We got a ride to and from Gitano in the evening and that was a highlight of the trip. It made for a perfect Mother's Day weekend! I will definitely be returning for another stay!
I went to governors island and I walked most of the island ...its so pretty and quiet and pleasant. They celebrate a yearly event called jazz lawn party which is 1930s theme ...the music was good the food( not free) had variety of comfort food ..but the island its self is breathtaking they also have a Mexican place named GITANO ...which is island goals ! This place is gorgeous ! You have to put it on your bucket list.
They also have a spa on the island which I'm dying to try because it looks so serene and nice, they also rent bikes for you to ride all around the island ,overall this island is gorgeous and has everything you need to have a fun day with family or friends.
this place is pure magic. and worth every penny. only a few short minutes from Manhattan yet a universe away. We came over for cocktails and arrived at the most stellar sunset I’ve ever seen in NYC. The service and drinks were top notch. Oysters are wonderful. Onion fritters are so good we ordered a second round and after the sun went down we headed over to the fire pits for night caps and s’mores. It was an incredible evening. And at the end of the whole night, we were back at out place in Manhattan before 11pm. I can’t wait to return. What a special place.
