Columbus Pre-School

From the top down and bottom up a functioning child-centered program. Everyone at Columbus Pre-School has been a joy to work with and learn from. This program sees our children as we see them, a bundle of strengths, weaknesses, each intrinsically valueable. I see that they take each of the moments for reaching children seriously, meeting them where they are and helping them scaffold to the next tier of development. We, as parents, are partners in the learning process and the school uses technology efficiently to facilitate that coupled with direct personal engagement. In a post-covid world nothing could be more important that the socialization and education of our children and come what may we are happy to have found our way to Columbus Pre-School.

Our children have attended Columbus Pre-School since 2019 and we cannot say enough wonderful things about the school. We have been so impressed by all of the teachers, from the 2s program all the way to the Pre-K program. They are warm, nurturing, communicative, and accessible to parents. They are creative and truly follow the interests of the children. The teachers have introduced my children to early literacy, numbers, and letters, but also art, theatre, science, movement, gardening. My children come home every day with new stories, knowledge, friends, and are excited about learning and school. The facility is an amazing space for an NYC school environment. There is a huge gym space, multiple private outdoor spaces, a library, the classrooms are bright and airy.

Moreover, the parent and school community is kind, community minded, collaborative and respectful. We have come to truly count on the families we've met as part of our village here in NYC.

My son attended this school and it’s the best option we’ve made for him so far. It’s very family-style, chill and loving environment with incredibly nice gym, warm and patient teachers. The parents community is beyond my highest expectations. Highly recommended!
