Devine Ayurveda

I knew nothing about ayurvedic medicine. Meeting with Teresa felt like falling into the loving hands of a wise elder (though she is younger than me by about 10 years.) She explained things in a way I could understand and offered accessible and reasonable ways of handling the inevitable changes of an aging, relatively fit body. She has become my trusted mentor in matters of food and fitness. I would and will recommend her to anyone wanting to feel good in the mind and body (in other words, EVERYONE.)

I believe in coincidences and it is no coincidence that Teresa’s last name is Devine. It may not be spelled as “divine”, but I assure you she embodies it in every way. Teresa is loving compassion in action. Her presence is calming yet strong. It is these qualities that allows her to hold space for her students. In Teresa’s presence, I feel safe to be vulnerable so that I may face what comes up without fear and she provides me with the gentlest encouragement while I go through my transformations.

I have taken many yoga classes with Teresa: Kundalini, Free Flow, Gentle, Dynamic and Nidra. I have grown so much in my practice under her guidance. She not only holds the space, but she is so knowledgeable about posturing and offers such insightful wisdom that I take with me off the mat.

Most recently, I had a number of Ayurvedic sessions in which Teresa continued to gently lead me as I began to uncover some of my own behaviors and with her knowledge of Ayurveda, I began to understand my constitution. She taught me so much and I left our sessions empowered. Each week she would give me just the right amount of “homework” to be successful. I have never felt better, and I know that my yoga practice and love for myself has been enhanced by the application of the ayurvedic principles.

I am so grateful for Teresa. She genuinely cares about her students and she is a spiritual teacher who walks her talk.
