Delicious and fresh!! Reminds me of growing up. I highly recommend this restaurant. The girl with the hairy arms is really nice! I will come back again when I’m in the area.
The best Dominican restaurant in South Richmond Hill, and I mean that with absolute certainty. Hey, they might just be the best place for Dominican in Queens in general.
Me and my family have been ordering food here for over two and a half decades, ever since they were small dingy-looking hood spot way back in the early 2000s. Long-time supporters. To see them grow as a business, receive packs of customers of all races, renovate, open new locations, and still deliver great food is what I love to see.
They're known for their Rotisserie Chicken which is tender, delicious and has a mouth-watering seasoning that you might as well buy a whole chicken. Otherwise you'll only be craving for more after you finish your quarter or half chicken. However, their excellency doesn't just stop at their Rotisserie Chicken, their selection is top notch, filled with all the best Dominican and Caribbean specialties.
From Pernil (Roast Pork Shoulder), Ox Tail, Pollo Guisado (Chicken Stew), Carne Asada (Grilled Steak), Chicharrone (Fried Pork Chunks), and so forth. To even soups, sandwiches, and a few (very few) American dishes oddly enough.
They serve you food that tastes just like as if your grandma made it. A very home-y type of taste I can't get anywhere else. The portions are very generous, to the point they will channel the power of Christ to fit all the food in your aluminum, small plastic container, or on your plate. Prices are tad higher than they used to be, but the quality of the food has not dropped and I am completely fine with that. I know I'm getting my money's worth.
My favorites on their menu are the Pernil with yellow rice (honestly, my number one recommended. Make sure to ask for some crispy skin!), Fried Fish, Pollo Empanizado (Breaded Fried Chicken), Pork Ribs, half a Rotisserie Chicken with White Rice and Red Beans, Chicharrones (Fried Pork Chunks), Chicharrones de Pollo (Fried Chicken Chunks, the Bone-In ones are superior in my opinion), Ox Tail, and Sopa de Marisco (Seafood soup).
And I haven't even tried their entire menu yet, it's so hard to pick what I want each time I go for either lunch or dinner. They serve breakfast too but it's a little too far for me to go in the morning. They also serve empanadas (Cheese, Chicken and Beef), salads, and some dessert cakes, which are from a supplier. Their selection of drinks is also wide, even including some Caribbean favorites.
If you go during peak hours, largely lunch time, 5PM - 8PM or on weekends--expect to wait especially for delivery. However, when ordering in person you won't have to wait that much seeing how fast the workers are! You will be given good and quick service so you can get your food and quickly head to the table, or home, and devour it.
Truly, a great spot for authentic Dominican and Caribbean food and simply just a great restauarant to order from if you want a nice, warm filling meal that will make you plan your next visit.~
very nice staff, friendly and helpful. food was good too!
Stopped here after getting back from JFK. I was craving some Dominican food. I found it on here myself. When I entered this place, I was shocked to see that they had full blown meals ready by 9:30am. Sancocho, stewed chicken, different types of rice etc. I ordered a small mangu and what I noticed is that they fry the eggs right before your eyes. They also have sweets and the classic empanadas. The food was delicious and although it might seem like a pain waiting in line, that is always a good sign. Due to COVID, there is not a seating area available. Also you have to park on the street. Don’t forget to use the meters!
