(May 26, 2023, 11:24 am)Love this place, always an amazing drive especially on the motorcycle up asharoken. Beware of the hiding police trying to catch speeders. Only thing is I wish they didn't fence off the sand bar to make it a bird sanctuary, I used to love walking down there with my dog.

(December 4, 2022, 9:22 pm)Nice short visit on cold winter morning. Access to Sarah Ruppert bird park preserve is supposed to be open per city’s web site at this time of year but posted signs from summer still prohibit it. Looks like a way to deter visitors and make beach private.
