As a contractor who has installed many types of safety surfacing for playgrounds. We have found that Unity’s tiles are the best. They seem to have the strongest interlocks on the market. This was shown to me first hand where the local rep explained the rear wall and glue reservoir……very impressive design. Additionally, the bolt-down capability ensures that I won’t have to return to the jobsite to fix any problems. On a side note, don’t let the double tile fool you (I was nervous too), it is designed to allow the other half of the tile to be used on the next row, which greatly reduces the waste factor. We selected Unity Surfacing Pavers for a roof playground project that our company was on for several reason.
The double panel with self-interlocking system is designed to resist wind uplift while at the same time have Class A Fire Rating…..something that was hard to find with other rubber paver companies. That being said, such testing criteria came in handy at this community center, located directly on the ocean. I encourage others to use this safe and reliable product.
