Variations, a dancer's studio

As we start to emerge from the Pandemic, I wanted to share my feedback on how Variations have looked after their Dancers over the last year (before we forget just how hard this was). Erin and John (the owners) plus their dance teachers are all a Master Class in how they focused on both the physical and mental wellbeing of their dancers. Having the normality of the class times, albeit virtual, were a saving grace during the early stages, even producing a small, yet appreciated end of year show in their own car park, to the strictly adhered guidelines as in person returned. Always checking in with the dancers to see how they were coping, how their week was and making the time spent at the class both fun and beneficial. This small business in the heart of Huntington sets the greatest example and the bar on how communication, trust and loyalty matter when surviving a crisis.

We have loved Variations for years! Since we have been quarantined, we can’t believe how connected the studio has been with their dancers and performers! They bring the classes to us virtually since we cannot come to the studio and the classes are amazing! We love that our daughter counts down the minutes until we ZOOM with our Variations family! Thank you for keeping our weekly routine as “normal” as it can be in this not- so-normal scenario and thank you for bringing joy and happiness into our world during this very trying time! Amazing things happen at Variations because YOU make amazing things happen! ❤️

I have been taking dance from Debbie Hahn for the past 20 years and loving every minute of every class. She is a wonderful teacher, dancer and choreographer who is able to improve students' ability at all levels. Her students love her because she is so knowledgeable, giving and talented.

Debbie is just one of many amazing teachers who teach at Variations, A Dancer's Studio - "Wonderful Things Happen Here". This says it all - it is a place where you will learn to dance and love it. All of the teachers who teach at variations are beautiful dancers who are passionate about sharing their love and knowledge of dance with their students.

No matter what your level of experience, from never dancing to advanced, you will be able to grow to your full potential; this studio is the best - look no further - not even Manhattan!

this school is one of a kind. the owner/teacher of my daughter's class says her goal is not to make every student a prima ballerina, but to make every student a lifelong dancer and lover of dance. i love that mission statement! and both of my daughters have loved the school. the instructors are not only very talented in their own right, but also true educators. i'd been to two other huntington dance schools before variations, and the teachers there simply did not have the same gift with teaching children. (from what i;ve seen, their teen and adult program is excellent as well)
one last thing: the other schools i went to made far too big a deal of recitals for the little ones, requiring parents to buy more costumes and the like. this school has a showcase for the older students, but a wonderful "recital" for the younger students that simply takes place in their classroom on their normal dance day/time. Parents and grandparents pile in and the instructor lends the girls a special tutu to put over their leotards for the day. my girls got all the thrill of a recital, but their parents did not endure all the cost and hassle of a recital!

We just started our child in a basic Tap and Ballet class for 4 year olds at Variations and it's a smash! The teacher is wonderful and keeps it very fun and exciting, so all the little 4 year olds stay focused.
It's a great introduction to how a dance class works and they make learning into a creative exploration of space and movement.
