Danny and Ed followed their father in the family insurance business.
They are gentleman and Ed, Jr. runs the office with the personal touch and with remarkable clarity and business acumen.
I walked in off the street with a question and he sat with me [unannounced] and gave me every second that I needed.
In the past week, two 89-year-old East Rockawayites (from Oceanview Road and Centre Avenue) sang Edwin Gerrity, Jr.'s praises to me.
I am old enough to remember Mr. Gerrity when the original storefront abutted Charlie Krull's plumbing business, near the Village Hall and Memorial Park.
Mr. Gerrity was a class act, and when it comes to Dan and Ed (now running the business), "the apple didn't fall far from the tree."
I note that of the nine (5) ratings posted on this site, ALL of them rate Ed and his staff with five stars (the highest possible rating).
The office staff are friendly, welcoming, and hard-working.
Ed is a whiz at the insurance trade, (Nature or nurture? Who can tell?)
