Glen Island Park

Great place to bring your family to enjoy summer!!! Lots to do!!! Bbq , cant play loud music or drink in the park so you have to be clever and stash everything!! They have security and police so only positive peaceful people can vibe. Beautiful place to relax and chill!!! Feels like a get away!!!

So beautiful and quiet environments. If you are not Westchester county resident, please don’t bring your car inside the Island. They will return you to park far away from the island.

Beautiful and spacious park!
There are many great views and hang out spot with picnic benches around.
There were quite a few people fishing.
Parking is close by within view which is a short walk from the park.
There is a fenced in play area for the kids, away from the water.

Exploring New Rochelle on Sunday. Discovered that Glen Island was once the home to the country's first theme park noted as America's pleasaure ground. It was called Starin's Glen Island after its owner John Starin, US Congressman and shipping magnate.

The island's main attraction was a re-created German castle modeled after an ancient Rhine fortress. The arched entrance was broad enough to admit a coach into the courtyard leading to the great hall. In the great hall was the "Little Germany" (Klein Deutschland) beer garden, where food and beer were served by waiters in Tyrolean dress.[14]
In the 30s Glen Island Casino was home to some of the best bands of the Big Band Era.

Beautiful place to go for a walk, jog, bbq, picnic, take in scenic views, etc.. They have a few playgrounds and a Harbour Club for special events. Had the privilege of meeting Trini, the park's Foreman. Nicest guy ever!! Definitely going back!
