Must must try the Ackee Spring Rolls

I wish the skin wasn't present on the jumbo Srimp plantains for a better biting experience. After removing the skin the bite was spicy delicious

Quaint atmosphere that can accommodate a large party

Make sure to have the Haitian waiter James sing you Happy Birthday
Erick was our energetic, smiling waiter

Hands down the best Caribbean restaurant I've been to thus far. This is my second visit in merely 2 months. It's a cute restaurant located in a brownstone embodying the Brooklyn vibe. We ordered the cod fritters, chicken & waffle combo, short rib poutine, and mac & cheese with chicken (spiced with jerk seasoning). We had the coconut rum punch to wash it all down. Food is impeccable- every dish was a hit! The rum punch was sweet and boozy. As this is a comfort food fare, get ready to slide into a happy food coma. Note, the restaurant includes 18% gratuity on all checks. Credit card transactions must be accompanied by a government issued ID.

Great place with outdoor, upstairs, and lower level seating. The food is quite flavorful and just the right portion. Also, the variety of the menu needs mentioning as well. Love, love the blue duppy drink! I'll definitely be back!

My best friend came into town and wanted to try here, so we tried it and I’m here to tell you the details!

The decor is dark and moody! (Just how I like it), also, it gives an old-school feel to it? There are two floors and an outside (Be careful going upstairs, don’t be like me and fall. The stairs are very steep). There was a playlist going, I did notice old-school reggae during earlier hours and newer reggae, Soca, and afro beats were for later. The crowd was mixed age ranges and everyone collectively seemed to be having fun!

The drinks, y’all know I love a rum punch! & for the portion and flavor, I definitely would put this rum punch in my top rum punches. I loved the cute pineapple glasses, but not every rum punch comes with it. I also tried my friends Brooklyn Love, and it was good as well!

Now let’s talk about the food! We started with the Mac & cheese, the Ackee and saltfish spring rolls, and the jerk chicken tacos. That Mac was just as good as it looks, but that Ackee and Saltfish stole my soul. I couldn’t try the tacos due to Lent, but I heard they were good. Now, my entree was the Upstream Scotty and the salmon was soooooooo fresh (just wish the salmon was bigger it was a bit small and thin) and the callaloo was pretty good. I’m used to it being in a different consistency, but it wasn't bad. I highly recommend pairing the mac with the Upstream Scotty. The two paired together well. I tried my friend's reggae pasta and it was delicious! The same with the Big Red! Now dessert….We shared the brownie bar and the banana bread pudding. My favorite out of the two was the brownie bar. The banana bread pudding was okay, however, the vanilla ice cream with the banana bread pudding is good!

Our server, Hassim was extremely attentive! He did the perfect balance of checking in and was very nice! Thank you Imani for contributing to a great girls' night! I’ll see you soon 🎉

    🌟 I'll give here 4.5/5 stars 🌟
