Jean Shen Acupuncture

I highly recommend that if you’re on the fence for acupuncture you visit Dr.Jean her practice has been here for 34 years for a reason :
I can honestly she is one of the best acupuncturist I have been to in years. I had an accident in the late afternoon on Friday where I pulled a muscle and was in a lot of pain to even walk or sit down/turn sideways .
So I went on Google and looked up the nearest acupuncturist near me for a Saturday appointment the earlier the better. I called in as soon as she opened at 9 and she was able to fit me in at 12, when I got there she listened to my problem asked me questions and asked if I was ok with the treatment . She was constantly checking if my level of comfort with the needles was ok . Once the treatment was done I felt sooo much better I could sit up without any assistance and could actually step down by myself. She urged me to take it slow and recommend I don’t drive and take it slow till my muscle can adjust and go back to its original place. I highly recommend that if you’re on the fence for acupuncture you visit Dr.Jean her practice has been here for 34 years for a reason . I will be following up with her before going into work Monday morning because she did such a wonderful job helping me get myself back to my old active self.

I have heard of Dr. Shen from different people, including friends that have been her patient for literally decades. I came to her when I was 7 months pregnant and had Bells Palsy (a scary condition where half of your face is paralyzed) and the doctor at the Greenwich hospital told me I needed to take Steroids to reduce the chances of having it for the rest of my life (it is rare, but it can happen). She said the steroid was safe for the baby, but the only time I had steroids in my life I had side effects that lasted a whole month, so I didn't believe her (the same way I still don't buy that epidurals don't affect babies at all). I called my father, who is a doctor overseas, and he told me to toss the prescription and to run to an acupuncturist, as the earlier I got treated the more certain I could be to get better, and soon. Sure enough, Dr. Shen did a great job and after about 1 week the symptoms started to go away (if it goes untreated it usually starts going away on it's own at least after 2 weeks). After that, I keep getting treated by Dr. Shen for back and wrist pain (boy, kids are heavy!), together with Quiropractic care from Dr. Friedman in Rye Brook, and I love when she uses the electric stimulation on the needles, which keep my back painless (PAINLESS!) for at least a few days, even when I am too busy to stretch or exercise (THOSE weeks..). Ah! I should mention I donated breastmilk to a human milk bank and as they asked I disclosed I was being treated by Dr. Shen and they where ok with it. Dr. Shen has been in the same spot in Mamaroneck for 25 years and I can say I trust her, and I definitely recommend her to anyone with any kind of chronic pain, Bells Palsy and any other issue where Acupuncture is recommended. And by the way, her fee is very reasonable, and actually more affordable than most acupuncturists I have heard about in the area (Westchester, and leave alone Greenwich, where I live..). Last but not least, Dr. Shen is an adorable person, always kind, patient, and smily. Thank you so much, Dr. Shen!!
