(February 18, 2021, 12:17 pm)Grand Master Kang (Ik Jo Kang) is a 9th degree black belt (which is the higest degree) knows TaeKwonDo and Hapkido incredibly well and has been training students in New York and South Korea and now Connecticut for more than 40 years! He was part of the Korean Special Forces!! and taught Amercian troops in Korea. When he came to the USA his first school was in New York where he has many followers. Everyone trains in the two different styles of both hapkido and TaeKwonDo. I have been going to master kang for many years and has taught me many hapkido self-defense teqniuqes and many TaeKwanDo kicks and forms. Right now I am a brown belt with a black stripe, one more belt and I am a black belt first degree. Why Grand Master Kang? He is the real thing. He is so respected even in Korea that when the Olympics happened there he ran with the opening torch!! Grand Master Kang has done sword demonstrations in Madison Square Garden, and (When he was younger) could RUN ON WALLS (which is not a skill they teach now) but I have been trying it myself: it's VERY difficult ;-). You should come to Grand Master Ik Jo Kang's TaeKwonDo and Hapkido's school and YOU could be one of his students. Its a lot fun. But also hard work.

(January 27, 2016, 4:02 pm)My children have taken tae kwon do lessons for 4 years in Ohio. Six months with kangs and their skill set and focus has improved dramatically . Excellent teachers, great environment.
