Originally the Brooklyn Police,chartered in 1899,refusing to merge with NYPD by being absorbed when asked by the city of NY apposed by Seagate home owners association /Tax payers. The idea was to keep and fund their very own Police. If you get arrested by them I can assure you that you will go to a real court house and a real jail . I did some research and they' are very real. As a retired NYPD I was fortunate to have worked with their chief of Police. Best wishes to all.
