Fantastic experience with Suzi, who squeezed in a cut for me on top of the color I’d already scheduled. I’m a new mom and was desperately in need of feeling fresher—I got that and a much needed nap during my shampoo. It’s so hard to find and trust people with my curls but now I’m a Suzi convert! The space is also very calming and low key.

This place is excellent. A real gem! I have had my haircut at Birdhouse twice now, both times Kara was the stylist. The second haircut was a transformational haircut. I went from long hair to a short-ish Bob with bangs. Kara is an incredibly talented stylist. I absolutely love my new hair style. I've been to both locations, both of which are a schlep for me as I'm coming from Forest Hills, but it's so totally worth the trek.

This was my best experience at a hair salon since I've lived in NY! The whole process was amazing, from Reception to the actual Stylists. I booked my appointment with Quintana after reading reviews that she does natural highlights very well, and she killed it. First of all, they give you wine which is always a nice treat. Secondly, Quin took the time to really listen to what I wanted, what I like and don't like, and what I considered my problems with my hair color were. She then spent hours meticulously working through to give me the most perfect sun-kissed, lived in highlights of my dreams. It is rare for me to walk out of a salon with highlights that don't feel too warm or brassy to me, but she nailed it. She also gave me a beautiful long-layered cut, which is exactly what I wanted. On top of all of that, she is an absolute joy to be around. I had such a fun day in the salon with her! I highly recommend booking services with her, and will definitely be returning.

The ONLY negatives: 1. parking is tough, which they tell you in advance! Give yourself enough time to find parking if you're driving. 2. I wish I had found Quin sooner!

I had a haircut appointment with Ana. I haven't cut my hair in 3 years and I have very course, thick, curly hair so I was afraid that in the wrong hands it would turn out badly. Luckily, Ana was a professional! She listened to my concerns and took things super slowly with me, checking between each step to see how I felt about the length of different sections and in the end I left with a great cut.

The only downside was the very rough detangle I received during my wash by an assistant. Other than that I will definitely recommend this salon and Ana. Thanks!

Quintana is AMAZING!!! She does so well with my long hair! She gave me this perfect blonde color a few months ago and I came back today for a haircut and layers. It looks amazing I love it so much!!! And I really love that she teaches me about my hair and she really listens to me about what I want done to my hair. Please book w Quintana she’s my favorite person who has ever done my hair!!! And she’s so sweet and hilarious.
