The Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Group have been a wonderful team. Dr. David Greenspun is a wonderful micro reconstructive surgeon. He cares to make sure you feel like; YOU! I sincerely feel that the 3 hours travel to his office was worth the time. He showed great skill and friendliness without ever being arrogant or making me feel uneasy.
Being an older and plump woman, I never felt like I wasn't worthy of his care and concern. He was honest about the realities that were ahead of me. He did not sugar coat things like other Dr.'s I met with. Having DIEP surgery was the hardest decision I made for my life. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Very responsive all this during the pandemic. All positives that made my near year journey with the group a positive one. I'm forever. grateful. Forever.

I was given Dr Greenspun's name after being diagnosed with breast cancer.
I had no idea what to expect or who I would be dealing with. This surgery was the best option I could have done. Dr Greenspun was extremely compassionate and his staff were ALWAYS able to answer question as much as him. And they actually listen to me and what I would like.
Since my diagnosis I have had reconstruction surgeries (the first and the 'touch-up') and I'm recovering very well.
While being treated for breast cancer it was discovered I had another type of cancer as well. Dr Greenspun took it upon himself to contact my other surgeon and between the two of them worked out the best plan for me. I was really impressed he would take the time to do that - the other cancer is being treated at MSK in New York.
Another area of note - Dr Greenspun works closely with Dr Gilego. And she is the ultimate in breast cancer surgeons. She's caring, sweet and extremely well respected. Between the two of them I can absolutely say I did the very best thing I could have for my breast cancer.
Both are concerned not just about getting me cancer free, but making sure I am happy long term with how my body looks later on. While going through cancer I didn't really care about how I would look - and to be honest, 7 months in, I still don't. But Dr Greenspun's team do their best to ensure my body image (which was never high anyway) is good and I don't feel too different. I can only describe it as feeling that 'I look like me'. Which is a great feeling.
The hospital itself is wonderful - the staff are incredibly kind and careful. I really appreciated being in the Greenwich hospital - I know from hearing stories that other places aren't so comfortable. It feels like a hotel - room service and my own room with my own bathroom. Dr Greenspun and Dr Gilego both visited me during my stay to keep checking in on me.
If you're reading this you've probably been touched by breast cancer. I was scared and nervous, I have two children and was determined I wasn't going to die. Dr Greenspun's whole office took care of me, and my whole family. I really appreciated them all.
