Joe and Brad are so awesome. Being new to triathlon Joe took the time to explain clearly everything he was doing and why, during the fit and also gave me tips on things I can do to get the most out of my fit. They’ve built an awesome culture in their shop and I even met a gentleman that recently raced Ironman Israel when I was in the shop. Was a really great experience and I can’t wait to work with them again. I just wish they were a little closer to where I live! Thanks again guys.
Came here for a bike fitting and couldn't have been happier with the service. Joe and Brad were both awesome; very welcoming and friendly. In terms of the fit itself, every step in the process was explained and every change had a reason behind it. I've had fittings done at other shops where the process has been very subjective, "does this position feel better than the last? How about this one? etc...." Besides Joes' expertise, the nice thing about the fitting process at Fit Werx was that there was quantifiable data to help elaborate on what felt right or wrong. For instance, I was having trouble with my position on the saddle and although Joe could see this, he put down a pressure map on the saddle so we could pin point what was going on and to track changes as we altered my position on the bike. If you're looking for a bike fit, I highly recommend Fit Werx.
Went to Fit Werx to be fitted on my new road bike. Joe and Brad were great to work with. The equipment used and videos created during the fitting were great. Joe took his time doing an in-depth analysis on my flexibility and measurements and fully explained all the adjustments he was doing while answering all of my questions. It's a very friendly and professional environment and I highly recommend them. Can't wait for the weather to break so I can get back on the roads.
So this review took a while but is well deserved. I went in for my bike fit in early March with Joe who came across as someone who is extremely knowledgeable but at the same time very friendly and down to earth - a rare combination these days at bike shops. We went over a lot of Q&A even before we began doing the physical adjustments. Long story short, and after a few adjustments to my saddle and a new bar and stem, I have shred all my previous PRs and have never felt more comfortable on the bike. Joe and Brad are simply the best and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to advance their comfort and performance to the next level. Out of all my bike related upgrades, a bike fit session with Joe at Fit Werx was the probably the best investment I made.
In my garage I have a box of saddles that simply don’t work for me. Like a lot of riders I’ve been trying to find that perfect saddle, a balance between comfort, weight and cost. And that is before I even get to thinking about my bike fit, which had evolved from riding to get fitter, to riding with faster riders in my local clubs and this year I started racing at State Champs level.
Having previously never felt the need for a professional bike fit, I rode around in blissful ignorance. But this year I looked to make those incremental gains that the best riders talk about. I bought a faster bike, started core training in the Gym, improved my diet and generally taking my cycling to the next level. So at the beginning of this seasons cycling, I asked around, where to get a really good bike fit session. I was given a few good places to try, but I chose Fit Werx because I had heard good things and bike fit is one of the things they specialize in.
So I booked a session with Joe at Ridgefield Park, NJ. Fit Werx won’t just sit you on a indoor training bike and fiddle with the seat height. Their process is much more scientific and detailed. Before they get you on a bike, Joe asked a lot of questions about how I currently ride and my cycling aspirations. He will record not only your basic height, weight etc, but much more importantly your body posture and flexibility. This highlighted a recommendation to change my existing shoe instep pad height. Thankfully I kept the ones that originally came with the shoes and that was easily remedied.
Then the bike session begins, immediately it became apparent my saddle was a poor fit and the seat to bars spacing needed some work. With a mix of steady riding and some max power efforts my position was tuned and adjusted.
Needless to say this one to one session is quite intense and that is why you have to book your session in advance and the shop is pretty much closed while they focus on you.
Joe found my best riding position and a perfect saddle, and my riding speed and comfort improved quite quickly in the following weeks and I was fortunate to win the occasional event as well as pick up a nice haul of podiums. As my fitness and speed improved this year, so has my riding position, so I will be returning to Fit Werx for a follow up bike-fit session early next year.
I would recommend Fit Werx not only to aspiring occasional bike racers but also those who simply ride for fitness.
