Kama Central Park

I’m not sure what I was expecting going into this but the place definitely hit all expectations. Everything looked like the photos, the check in process was super easy. Especially with the help of Izzy. She was kind, friendly and was always willing to help! I would definitely recommend to any solo travelers!

Fantastic location, and pretty good price compared to everything else.
Service was quite good, with the place being clean, and the receptionists being helpful and kind. Izzy was a very insightful and kind receptionist and was fun to talk to.
The pods are good for privacy for sure. But they are a little small, me being 6'3" had my toes touching the board and my head also touching the board. The build quality is also not great, though that's coming from a stickler. The fan can certainly be made quieter, but it's also necessary. USB plugs were also loose for me, but operational.
The location is fantastic. You come out onto a fairly quiet street a stones throw away from Central Park, and a 5 minute walk to Boardwalk (lots of good restaus there, like Mama's TOO). Subway is also quite close by so going to different parts of NYC were pretty easy.

I really enjoyed staying at this hostel because the price is right, the location is central to getting to all of the different boroughs in New York City using public transportation, and the pods gave you more privacy while sleeping. But best of all was my friend, Miguel, running the front desk and who went out of his way to make me feel welcome. There are a few kinks in the system, but nothing that detracted from my stay. Then again, this is not a luxury hotel and your wallet will thank you.

Excellent location the staff made my stay more enjoyable. The private pods are great for privacy and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend to everyone.
