First time here and it will not be the last!!! Everything was impeccable from the service to the delicious food. I will be trying everything for sure. Highly recommend if you want something yummy but aren’t sure this is the place to get a meal that tastes and feels like home !
My only complain or request to have later hours. They close at 6pm. Cute spot. Yummy food. Nice staff. I'll be back for the daily lunch menu!
First time try this place, not bad good favor, but only four pice meat. For $11.43 it might be good value.
La Mezcla is a great little Columbian - Mexican restaurant that recently opened its door last month. The menu focuses mainly on breakfast and lunch items like breakfast sandwiches, tacos, and quesadillas, just to name a few. They also have dishes like oxtails, lemon chicken, lomo saltado as part of their lunch specials. As for drinks they have really good Colombian coffee, tea, and South American sodas.
On our visit this past weekend, we ordered:
Empanadas ($2): we tried both the chicken and beef. Both were made with yellow corn dough, deep fried and accompanied by salsa verde. While both were very filling and delicious, I think I preferred the beef over the chicken.
Tacos ($10 for three): normally you would choose between chicken, beef or chorizon but the lady working at the counter was kind enough to make us one of each. The tacos were simply made with lots of meat, a few sprigs of greens and chopped onions. All tasted good but I thought the chorizo had the most flavor.
Quesadilla ($6.50). We opted for the steak quesadilla, and this was my favorite from everything we ordered. I loved that it was deep fried which gave it a really nice crunchy texture. It was topped with lots of crema and queso blanco. They also gave us a green dipping sauce that they said was guacamole. It was a different consistency than usual guac; more liquid-y but it had a nice kick and really complemented the meat.
At the end of the meal, we were each given a tiny spoonful of homemade Mexican tamarind candy. It was sweet and slightly spicy. A great way to end the meal.
If you’re in the neighborhood, I say try this place out. The people working there are super nice and it’s nice to support a family-owned business. I must note though that the entrance is not handicap or stroller friendly as there are small steps to get inside and no ramp that I saw.
